About CeliaSue Hecht

Originally from NYC, CeliaSue Hecht has worn numerous hats, including author, coach, editor, photographer, reporter, seminar leader, teacher and writer. She has traveled worldwide and visited 275+ cities. She received a BA in Communications from FAU in Boca Raton, Florida which explains her avoidance of extreme heat and bugs that fly; worked as a newspaper editor, copy editor, reporter and photographer for various newspapers (not simultaneously); and co-authored, researched and edited five romantic travel guidebooks, several memoirs, including a woman's experience in Siberia, a book about women in the Resistance during WWII, UFO's, and a poetry book about abuse. After living in Nevada in the 1990s and early 2000's, she moved back to California (where she has lived most of her adult life), continued working as a freelance writer, editor, blogger and spoiler of a Polka Dot Princess (her dog, Cici).

Writing

I’ve wanted to be a writer since I learned how to read and write. After high school, I sent out poems to many publications and received lots of fun rejection letters including some handwritten ones. Then I worked as a babysitter, secretary, office manager and pre-school teacher (to have something to fall back on since everyone knows that artists and writers starve otherwise). Eventually, I found my life's work as a seminar leader and writer/editor.

Through expert guidance and coaching (finding people who believed in my gifts and talents), I have been published in 40+ publications including national magazines and top 100 newspapers.
